Templates are the reusable artifacts that drive your operations. Penbox Agent edits three of them: Form Templates, Case Templates, and Document Intelligence Templates.
Penbox also supports Email Templates and SMS Templates. Penbox Agent does not edit those. They need to be manually edited.

The three template types

Form Template

The form your contacts fill in: steps, fields, pages, translations, signatures, AI extraction, invitations.

Case Template

The blueprint for a recurring workflow: data schema, contacts, workflow steps, statuses, automations.

Document Intelligence Template

The extraction definition for documents.

How template editing works

Create or open a template, open Penbox Agent, and describe what you want.
  1. You describe a change, or attach a PDF or image.
  2. Penbox Agent announces a short plan.
  3. Penbox Agent applies the change incrementally. You see each change appear live in the editor.
  4. Penbox Agent confirms what changed. In the Form Template editor, it can add one actionable suggestion to improve the form if you click on the lightbulb icon.

Building from a document

Drop a document. Penbox Agent reads it and scaffolds the template.
  • Drop a paper form into the Form Template editor. Penbox Agent reproduces it as a Penbox form.
  • Drop a claim report, intake form, or contract into the Case Template editor. Penbox Agent generates the matching data schema, contacts, and workflow steps.
Send the file with no message and Penbox Agent builds end to end, announcing a short plan before executing.
Use a clean, representative example. Penbox Agent infers field types, conditional sections, and required information from what it sees.

What carries across all three

  • Penbox Agent reads the live template before every change. Edits made in the UI outside the chat are picked up automatically.
  • Penbox Agent asks a short clarifying question instead of guessing.
  • Large requests are split into many small calls. You see each change land and you can stop the agent at any point.
  • Every change is reversible. See Reverting changes for the per-surface details.
